I was put into the Young Womens a few months ago and our Young Women In Excellence was held in November. The theme was The Spotlight is on You. I was in charge of the refreshments and decided on making these cute cupcakes. After making 4 dozen cupcakes, Jay was designated as back massager for the night. The silhouettes were stamped on and touched up with food coloring to get the exact shape I wanted. Good thing Young Women in Excellence isn't for another year, cause I need a little time to forget all the prepping that was done.

Garden

This is the first time I have really been excited about a garden. I know it doesn't look like much but it's so easy to get anything to grow out here in Missouri that even I can do it!

I guess this tomato was born on a silver platter.

Summer Flying

Once a year, the Mid-Missouri R/C Association has a members/family only event. They had a few contests, such as, flying your plane under a limbo without crashing, trying to touch your airplane's tail on a stationary red flag while flying, and take off and land closest to a minute mark. This makes it more exciting to come out to watch.

You can just imagine want our home looks like!

This is the one minute flight contest that Jay participated in. The judge clocked him at 1.01 minutes and someone still beat his time!

Utah Road Trip

Cute basket my sister-in-law, Adelia, made with snacks, sleeve of golf balls (which Jay already lost maybe in the water), and intinary of the reunion.

Lava cave which had about a 15 foot drop inside. How did we all get down and then up out of there! Most of the family including the young nieces and nephews went inside.

Rachel and I waiting for our turn for help getting down into the cave.

Went to see Tarzan at Tuacahn. You can see the beautiful stage and background of the amphitheatre.

Well, I've finally given in...I've created a blog. Jay and I have been here in Columbia, MO for a year now and love the scenery. We've taken a couple vacations since school was let out and our latest one was to St. George, Utah for a week Family Reunion. Why did we drive?! Thank you for friends and family where we were able to stay a night or two to make the drive more bearable. We had a great time and we're excited that the whole immediate family could make it. We thought that it would have been a more laid back, laying out at the pool, kind of a reunion this time, but was quite the opposite. There were many activities planned. Going on a hike to the lava caves, swimming, lip sync night, FHE, golf, bracelet making, relays, auction, tuacahn, and a whole day dedicated to going to the temple. It was really great and ready for the next reunion in two years.
This link is our lip sync song. Each family had to pick a song from the year they got married and perform in front of everyone else. We picked a Flight of Conchords song.
